Guerilla Style Projection Marketing by Bing
Sometimes the best way to get your brand’s message out in the open is just to get your brand’s message out in the open. That’s what Bing did recently with this mobile projection rig, which they used to do guerrilla style projection onto the faces of dozens of London buildings. Think of it kinda like a flash mob… without the flash mob. Or like street art without all of the messy clean-up.
London is in the middle of general elections and residents are no doubt being bombarded by a massive onslaught of campaign messages, making Bing’s message of Information Overload? all the more timely and relevant. Well played, Bing. Well played.
2010 No Pants Subway Ride
My love for flash mobs has been well documented, so there’s no need to rehash my reasons. Just sit back, relax, and find a little amusement in this: the 9th Annual NYC No Pants Subway Ride, which took place on January 10th.
The event was coordinated by flash mob masters Improv Everywhere.
Guerilla Handbell Strikeforce
In the latest performance from Improv Everywhere, a bell-ringing Salvation Army worker gets an unsolicited helping hand.
It would be brilliant to see The Salvation Army incorporate something like this into some of its major markets. Notice how the smiles (and the donations) multiplied once the bell chorus started?
The difference between one bell and the bell chours is worth noting. One guy constantly ringing a bell is borderline annoying, as it simply adds to the everyday noise we have learned to filter out. The multi-bell chorus creates something beautiful that makes people stop, listen, and feel something.
Never underestimate the power of emotion as a motivational force.
Fashion Meets Flash Mob
I totally geek flash mobs. I can’t really explain why, except to say for some odd reason they usually make me smile. Maybe it’s the way they shatter our expectations of everyday situations; a creative taser that shocks us out of the daily grind, even if only for a moment.
Okay, enough philosophy. Here’s what happens when fashion meets flash mobs.
Now if you will excuse me, I feel the sudden urge to go buy something on sale at BrandAlley.
